The Morris County Bar Association is a professional association of attorneys and members of the judiciary who live in and/or practice law in Morris County. The objectives of the Association are as follows: to maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of law; to promote an understanding of the law and its application in society; to foster the due administration of justice; and to promote the capacity of the Bar for public service, particularly the provision of pro bono legal services in appropriate cases.
The Morris County Bar Association is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the Association's membership and maintains a staff comprised of an Executive Director, Lawyer Referral Service Administrator, and a secretary. There are 1100 members of the Morris County Bar Association and the organizational structure includes numerous practice and professional committees; including an active Young Lawyer Committee. Activities include regularly scheduled dinner meetings, committee meetings, sporting events and seminars for which members can receive CLE credit in NJ, NY, and PA.
The Morris County Bar Association has a monthly newsletter, an active Lawyer Referral Service, an Annual Young Lawyer Mock Trial Competition, a High School Mock Trial Competition, a Speakers' Bureau for the public, a reduced fee program with the Housing Partnership For Morris County, a Volunteer Attorney Program with the Jersey Battered Women's Shelter, and a Mediation Program in the Court's Special Civil Part. The Association and its representatives maintain active contact with community and state organizations as well as with other law- related agencies and organizations.
The Morris County Bar Association has an active Professionalism Committee and a Lawyers' Assistance Program. Morris County Bar Association members also volunteer their time to serve on both the District Ten Fee Arbitration and Ethics Committees.
